That’s a very strong limitation of the pixel art medium and there aren’t many ways around it.
This is because if you scale it to a number that’s not whole, your pixel art will look broken and weird. You probably noticed that you can only increase the scale of the image by 100%’s but no fractions, like 250%. Resizing in whole numbers versus resizing in fractions Some edge cases exist, like printing pixel art to a really big billboard. While it’s possible to create something that looks like pixel art on vector, or exporting pixel art into vector format, it’s rarely done. The main drawback is that it’s hard to use it for detailed images like photos, and you have very little fine control on the pixel scale. Vector images are mostly a collection of points, line coordinates, and color information, which makes them very useful por creating images that can be rescaled into pretty much any resolution. If we simplify a lot, there are basically two types of 2D image files: bitmap and vector. Let’s start talking about how images are saved in the computer. Make sure to grab the 圆4 version for Windows, unless you somehow are still running a 32 bit system. They've made it easier! No longer do you have to compile Skia anymore, you can just grab a build of it from here. Once you have selected the components you need, hit modify (or install) in the bottom right corner to finish the Visual Studio set up. You can search for "3" to find it quickly. You will then need to make sure the select the SDK under the "Individual Components" tab if it hasn't already been selected. Under "Workloads", select "Desktop development with C++" which can be found under "Desktop & Mobile".
When in the Installer, click to "Modify" Visual Studio 2019. This can be done by searching for "Visual Studio Installer" and opening it up.

To install the Windows 2.0 SDK you will need to get to the modification menu (or simply select it during installation if you are installing). If you haven't installed Unity before, then you will need to download and install Visual Studio Community 2019. The only thing you will need to do is modify it to have the Windows 2.0 SDK. If you have installed Unity before, there's a very good chance you already have Visual Studio Community 2019. This means if you want to try out Aseprite for free, you can compile the source code yourself. The EULA allows you to "compile and modify the source code for your own personal purpose or to propose a contribution" to Aseprite (section 2g).
